This cathedral also known as Notre Dame Cathedral, situated in Paris Square, in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The neo-Romanesque architecture and its two 40m-high square towers tipped with iron spires dominate the Ho Chi Minh City's sky line.

You can find many of this beautiful stained glass in most catholic churches in Vietnam. Of course Duc Ba (Notre Dame, Saigon) has got some of the nicest stained glass windows with Virgin Mary, Jesus & saints images on them.

The hunchback is seemed roam the Saigon City after being accepted by neighborhood. Some ever spotted him in other cities from Saigon all the way to Hanoi. Hey! It’s me la!! The hunchback effect is created using my day sack. Hehe!! ;-) P/s: In the process of filming the Hunchback of the Notre Dame (Vietnam Edition), no hunchback nor Bok were harmed.

The City Post Office is just next to Notre Dame. You can hop in for some postal & phone services if you happen to done writing some postcard that you purchase from poor orphans (mostly overpriced). IDD calls using VoIP are sold at post-office and of course other cyber cafes too.

There are quite wide selections of exhibits in Fine Arts Museum and private galleries can hire a space for their exhibits. Some young artists may try their luck to make it to their fame by parking their drawings here. Do explore from room to room, one floor after another, you may see some really interesting topics that most art museum may not featured. I spend almost 2 hours here, although I am not someone who is very artistic nor able to appreciate art pieces. Still, time spend and take lots of pictures.

This tip is not going to talk about Sun Zhu's The Art of War, but about the cruelty of wars. You can find some of these art pieces ironically found it place in museums (HCM Fine Arts Museum). Vietnam War is one war that really shamed American beside the bombing of Pearl Harbor (WW II). What was the motivation for them to be involved in Vietnam War, till today many of them still don't really know? Do check out my Cu Chi page to find out the level of intelligent these Cu Chi Guerrillas had during the peak of Vietnam War.

The market is located right in middle of QUAN 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. The round about in front of the market is almost a must-pass for most tourists in order to access to various museums and other city attractions. You can find thousands of super small lots that selling almost everything money can buy. Of course do not expect superior quality for the money you paid for the goods & services.

I don’t think this statue located opposite the Ben Thanh Market has any significant* but just to decorate the street. Its right in front of the Ben Thanh Market, but Ben Thanh is quite a good spot to observe Vietnamese daily life. Note*: Correct me if I’m wrong.

This museum featured some of the cruelest chapters in Vietnam War history. Everyone who enters the museum will utterly confuse of who is right & who is wrong when war is breaking out. Be prepare for pictures that never been shown to public and bring along your own tissue papers. You might need them.

The famous picture that stirred up so much sympathy & causing so much Vietnam propaganda is displayed in the museum too.
I also cried when I read the book. Nah! Just kidding.
I visited Vietnam with zero knowledge about Vietnam War, beside those scenes that I saw from Forrest Gump movie. When I saw those pictures in War Remnants Museum, I feel so disgusted by the Special Forces sent by U.S.A.

Nhiki Tue Jan 8, 2008 09:30 UTC This info is sooo old mate, the airport tax is included now in the ticket | machomikemd Sat Aug 25, 2007 11:10 UTC you failed to mention that the north vietnamese started the war and that they used the very DEMOCRATIC foundations to destroy south vietnam, more people were killed by communist purges by mao ze dong & pol pot & stalin & kim jong il! | clixtox Mon Jul 16, 2007 09:12 UTC The USA has done a lot to be ashamed for including the horrible atomic atrocities at Hiroshima and Nagasaki but they were the victims at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
