Bangkok Transportation

Tuk-tuks: Tuk-Tuks

Getting TO/AROUND: Tuk-tuk is one unique transport not found in many countries. Thailand happens to be one of those places dense with Tuk-tuks.

Tuk-tuk is a good alternative for expensive taxi ride (in comfortable Toyota Altis). Before you use the service, please do negotiate with the tuk-tuk driver & often time can reduce to 40-50% of the initial price.

Avoid jumping into a tuk-tuk at famous tourist spot without negotiating; else you'll be paying too much for the ride.

    Metered Taxis: Taxi (Toyotas)
  • Tip Rating:
  • 'Mode': AROUND
    Category: Car/Motor Home
Getting TO/AROUND: Taxi is the best mode of transport in Bangkok especially when you are shopping at posh shopping malls or any route that is further than 6KM.

Imagine when you're carry shopping bags bearing brands such as Dior, Gucci and jump into a tuk-tuk & caught in the traffic jam. Not to mention the noise level from the tuk-tuk, the smoke & heat from other vehicles and finally your purchase may be perceived as imitations with famous names printed on.

Starting price at TBH35 (approx USD1) and will cost around USD2 to get to town centre or MBK area.

It's also worth considering if you're travel to Airport or from Airport (more that 2 person sharing). The air conditioning will be best appreciated after all the airport-xercise.

P/s: Airport Bus (TBH100) is better option for lone traveler, because taxi will cost about THB200-300.
