On the left, there is one big pond separate the main cave from the temple cave. You can access to the indoor (or should i call it in-cave) temple area with colorful painting & statue for Hindu believers.

If you were to visit Batu Caves around/during Thaipusam period, you will be overwhelm with possession who pay their pilgrimage to Batu Caves.

Hindus celebrate Thaipusam on the tenth month of their calendar. It coincides with the full moon at the end of January and beginning of February 'Thai' is the Hindu month which falls between January 15 to February 15 and 'Pusam' refers to a star which is at its brightest during the period of this festival. Celebrated in all parts of the world where there is a concentration of South Indians, the manifestation of the festival is best witnessed at Batu Caves and Penang.

You must be thinking I’m going to tell you how many steps in total. Just forget about that figure thing for awhile. Just look up the hill and enjoy the stalactite formation for awhile.

If you like, you can turn around to look at the direction facing the city. I don’t remember I saw KLCC from here.

Well, I was just finding an excuse to pant & catch my breath. Just imagine the whole square were filled with believers during Thaipusam. And of course it spilled out to the MRR2 highway as well.

272. The total steps for the main stair is 272 steps. Oh ya! The numbers will only found at the middle row of the stair.

Now you can catch your breath as long as you like.

Actually, I'm supposed to train walking the stair few times a week before I hike Mt Kinabalu. But good intention may not necessary yield good result. So, how many times I trained walking the stair you might ask. The answer is "not even once". That's why I suffer so much when I hike the Mt Kinabalu.
