South Padre Island Travel Guide: 156 reviews and 181 photos
Though this is the best beach in Texas, you may not enjoy it if you've been to tropical beaches out of the country. However, it's still enjoyable, depending on the time of the year you go in. I like to go around mid May, and most of the pictures here are from two separate trips during that month.
There are SO many shops on this island. It seems that many are run by only two people or companies, so every other one is the same. Many of them have elaborate entrances to draw people in and distinguish them from the multitudes of other shops.
This is another building that I liked on the island. I'm not sure if it's a condo or a regular house, but they've got a great spot on the shore!

Nice page. Karen and I had a wonderful week at South Padre Island last year, but missed the fireworks - except for the ones we made ourselves.
I am surprised a San Marcos girl would not have more pictures of SPI!!
