Comfortable and well located and other Amsterdam, Netherlands Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

I've stayed in this hotel twice now and its been very comfortable. The standard rooms are a pretty good size for Amsterdam and all rooms come equiped with hairdryers and an en suite bathroom. The superior rooms are amazing, and if you really want a treat I'd reccomend them. They feature 2 double beds, an en suite with a huge bath and our s even had a private rooftop terrace...have you ever heard of such a thing in Amsterdam?

Unique Qualities: Well, the terrace! Also has its own italian restaurant, which does room service too, and was not at all bad.

We had booked a weeks stay at the Rembrandt Residence. We had stayed here for a week last year so were not too worried. We arrived quite late in the evening due to Amsterdam having suffered a very heavy snowfall and our flight being delayed. On arriving we were told that the high floor room we had requested had been given to someone else so we had a room on the ground floor, but they could move us the following day if we wanted. The room we got was horrible. So tiny you could hardly get round the bed and a tiny little bathroom. We also discovered that you could hear all the noise from the hotel lobby, people coming up the steps and buzzing to be let in all night long.

The following morning we were moved to a room on the top floor. It was lovely. A huge room, great big sash windows, a great view over the canal (see picture) and the bathroom was great. A lovely hot deep fullsize bath and a power shower. Brilliant.

This hotel is great if you want a comfortable stay in the centre of Amsterdam, but not in the Red Light District.
