I enjoy Rothenburg! i know this lovely town is always thought of as maybe a touristy artificial, stereotype of all German towns. But i find it a pleasant respite as i work my way back to Frankurt to fly home from enjoying Munich or the Deutsche Alpenstrasse. This beautiful town goes back as a settlement to the 10th century.Around 1140 it became a town.In the years1300 to 1400 a wall with towers was built and stand to this day! Rothenburg has a rich and colorful history so numerous they all cannot be mentioned here.If you are traveling by car and find yourself with2 to3 days, drop by. Rothenburg is filled with busloads of tourist from0900-1430.I suggest one to go to markt make a picnic lunch and hike the Tauber valley, enjoy the beauty this lovely place has to offer.Go back to your room clean up,go walk the strasse after 1800 the town is basically yours! Then find a gasthaus and enjoy some gut burgerlich ! Then walk at night an let the echoes of this lovely town of Rothenburg past speak to you. |
