I am now living in Kigali. My initial imprssions are nothing but positive. I hear that this city was safe but it is no doubt it is one of the safest cities I have ever visited. That includes many cities in Canada as well. This coty of just over 850 000 offers both amazing and devastating sites. It is a mix between some very rich people and also some of the poorest people I have met. The country is in dyer need of help and development; consequently the reason I am working here for 6 months. However Kigali has this encouraging air about it.....something that says "we are making progress in fighting the terrible war on poverty..... but there is a long way to go". Only been here for 4 weeks and will already never forget some of the amazing people I have met here. I love my work, the people and Kigali itself. More to come.......
