Sharm is a tourist made resort. Its very desolate and the only scenery you will observe are rocky hills, a few camels and a lot of half finished hotels!! Give it 10 years and Sharm will be heaving...
Not that it doesn't have a lot to offer, the hotel we stayed in (Laguna) was amazing (Best room to date) and the ocean - WOW. Apart from steanding on a couple, of crabs (Yes, very funny!), the sea is shallow and clear. Our only regret is not trying Scuba Diving.
Not many excurions to try. We gave the old monestry a go - 2-3 hours drive and seeing the 'burning bush' and the mountain Moses claimbed to get the commandments, leaves you in awe.
- Pros:Great hotels, very peaceful, clear shallow waters
- Cons:desolate, unfinished, purpose tourist built
- In a nutshell:Little culture but lots of clear waters and relaxing resorts
