Miyajima is one of the three most beautiful spots in Japan.
I always try to go there when I'm back in Japan.
Check the tide schedule so that you can see it standing in water. When the tide is out, you can walk to it.
On the ferry to and from the island, don't miss the Kodak-moment to take some beautiful photos of the island with the red torii gate.
I will put information about this place later. In the meantime, if you have any questions about Miyajima, e-mail me.

I really enjoyed my virtual trip to Japan via your page, but I still hope to visit Japan in real life someday...
nice photos - the idea of going to Japan one day is growing on me more and more!
Beautiful pics!
I know what you mean about those deer. In Nara one tried to take a big chunk of my bottom - aooosh! Great page on Miyajima, going here this summer! :))

Ah so! Ding dong clap clap! I did it too at temples in Hiroshima and Miyajima! Also had a dear deer take a bite of my Miyajima map; an experience that was both kawaii and kowai ... ya know what I'm sayin'?
great cover pics of the red Torrii. :-) I've never been to any coastal areas of Japan.
Been there, bought the rice scooper!
Great photo thanks for that you are very well written
