We drove around North and East of Northern Ireland for 2 days, and came back to Belfast each night.

I wish GBP/US$ exchange rate were better. I would spend more time in Belfast.

Because there was no direct flight from US to Belfast when I booked the flights, I flew in to Dublin from Boston. Then, I took an express bus from the Dublin airport to Belfast city centre. It was only 7euro! and 2.5 hours comfortable ride. It was my second visit to Belfast.

This time, I walked around the town, had afternoon tea at the local cafe, and instead of pub meal, I had a nice dinner at restaurant on both nights. Also, I got to meet several VT members on the first night in Belfast and had a great time!

3 weeks after I came back from the trip, there was an awful riot in Belfast during the Orange Parade. I heard that it finally died down after several days. I was glad to find out that VT members whom I met were all OK.

The first time I was in Belfast, I took a black taxi tour to the West Belfast area, and saw the political murals in different areas including Shankill Rd and Falls Rod. Where I noticed that curbstones on some streets were painted either in the red, white and blue, or the green, white and gold.
