After the work in Islington on June 1 and 2, I had a day off. I took VT member's advice and went to York.
I spent about 5 hours walking around inside the wall, and enjoyed the every minute of it. I started from the train station, and went; Yorkshire Museum, York Minster, Monk Bar, King’s Square, York Castle Museum, Clifford’s Tower, Guildhall, and back to the train station.
Every street and square has its own feel and character, my only regret is that I could not find “Whip-ma-whop-ma-gate” street, York’s tiniest street with the longest name. |
