Come to Louisville for Derby!

Louisville, located on the banks of the Ohio River, is best known for the Kentucky Derby as well as the Louisville Slugger. The Derby takes place the 1st Saturday in May at Churchill Downs, and the festivities start about a month before. The Derby Festival is kicked off by a huge fireworks display on the Ohio River called "Thunder Over Louisville".
