dagett's camping is a little slice of heaven. For $8/night you get one of these cool palapas, that includes a grill, fire ring, and wood is sold at the office if available, and they also rent kayaks! toilets and showers are decent and the setting is spectacular.

MEXICO hwy 1

the road

MEX 1 is the only north/south road on the baja...the landscape is amazing, and constantly changing minute by minute, which made our long stretches of driving fly by. this highway starts at tijuana and goes down to cabo san lucas, and miles upon miles are desolate and beautifully lonely. this photo was taken somewhere in the center of baja where MEX 1 meanders inland, and before it goes through the mountains.

the cool thing about baja is that you can see the sunrise and sunset on the same day (spectacular, of course) after an amazing 8 hour drive. See homepage photo for dawn picture.
