Melbourne, what a great city. It's quite alot like Toronto -- except that in December for Christmas there is no snow and you can actually be in a bathing suit on a beach. My buddy and I headed down to Oz for a six week stay starting in Melbourne. After touring the great city for a couple of days (heading down to see the penguins on Phillips Island!) we jumped on a little tour that would take us along the coast on the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide. What a great trip ... a must see.

We didn't stay in Adelaide very long and the only thing I have to say about that city is that the Thai food is wonderful. We jumped on a ferry to Kangaroo Island for a three day circle "tour" on this island basically untouched by humans. The wildlife was stunning. Kangaroos, walrus', loads of birds and on and on. Rather interesting landscapes too with the "Remarkable Rocks" and all. Back to Adelaide and a flight up to Alice Springs where we joined Reg on another little tour to Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon. (AMAZING)

The Great Barrier Reef is indeed amazing -- and Cains is completely different than the rest of Australia. HUMID!!! Jungle time. So being able to hit the water by the reef was a nice time. Unfortunately we flew down to Brisbane and missed ALOT along the coast, but hey, Oz is a BIG country. Brisbane didn't do much for me or did Surfer's Paradise, so we hit Byron Bay for an extended stay. Now this is a nice, quiet, slow, relaxing place! Then off to Sydney for the last week...which too, is an AMAZING place.
