Icy Iceland | Lava rock -- the landscape |
How is it I get to go to some of the best places on earth in the winter? January in Iceland isn't the best time of year to hit this interesting place...but at least it's the slow season. The land is rock. Black lava rock to be precise. |
| | Geothermal Iceland Iceland is very neat in that it is geothermal. All the heat and power is derived from geothermal sources throughout the country. Another neat aspect of this is the ability to swim in hot water in the middle of January -- outside! |
| | Treeless -- almost In and around Keflavik and Reykjavik there are very few trees...lot's of steam and rock though! |
