Matsuyama-where I used to work

Horinouchi during the cherry blossom season
Matsuyama is quite a good city to live in, with some good bars, restaurants, and shopping wise, it's big enough to get what you need.

There are one or two tourist attractions, and it has good train/plane/bus/ferry connections to other places for travel. I enjoyed my 2 and a half years there. It's the gateway to Ehime prefecture
Matsuyama Castle

Main attractions

The main tourist attractions are Matsuyama Castle and Dogo Onsen. The onsen in particular draws a lot of domestic tourists from throughout Japan.

Revitilisation

Matsuyama city has been making considerable effort recently to promote itself more as a tourist destination. The areas around Dogo Onsen and Matsuyama castle have been revitilised considerably in recent times. Excellent to see.
