Narita is most well known for the airport, the busiest of Japan's international airports by some way.
However, even if you have a shortish stopover, there's enough to justify a trip from the airport into Narita city.
In addition, if you have an early flight out of Narita the next day, staying out in Narita the night before ensures a much more leisurely start to the day, with most hotels offering breakfast and an airport shuttle as part of their package.
