Ohakune
Ohakune is known as a major carrot growing region of New Zealand, hence this at the entrance to the town.
Gateway to Mt Ruapehu
It's also the gateway to Mt Ruapehu. Ohakune is busier in the winter of course, but Tongariro National Park is well worth visiting any time of year.
