Wandering through the grounds of Parliament is something to do when in Wellington. It's a stone's throw from the train station, and the grounds themselves are pleasant enough to stroll through.

A very modern museum with plenty to see. You need at least half a day to go through the displays on NZ history, wildlife, geology and so on. Great fun.

At the top of the cable car, there's a small museum outlining the history of this service in Wellington, with old cars etc. Wander in and take a look.

Take a ride up the hill on the cable car. There's a great view of the city and the harbour from the top. It's $1.80 one way and $3.60 return.

Another attraction at the top of the cable car is Carter Observatory with its planetarium. Good fun for those with a thing for astronomy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum which outlines Wellington's maritime history, as well as many events that have occured since Wellington was founded. It's well worth 30 minutes or so of your time.

This is a good place to walk along, do some people watching and even go for a swim if the weather is good. Walking along the waterfront is recommended.

Hi joshua, i have not been to NZ. Wellington is a beautiful place. Hope to visit sometime. i have recently visited Madeira Island, Portugal. It ws great- warm and sunny. I have two albums - one under Portugal and another under personal A. |
