Just retired at 55 (though I might try a new career shortly) from airline job after 20 plus years. Have traveled about 20 times to Europe, and now enjoy heading further east to countries that were "off limits" before the 90's. I like to shop and find the dollar is usually stronger in eastern European countries. Have seen most of islands in Carib., some Mexico, and four countries in S. Amer. Favorite area so far, southern Germany, Switz. and Austria. Would like to live in this area for one year, to travel, learn languages customs, and enjoy food. |
Cruising Forgot to mention I've been on about 15 cruises in past 12 years. Don't recommend any that would be less than 7 days, too short and not worth the bother packing. Ideal cruise is 10-12 days, you get to know ship and other passengers that way. And you only unpack once, no worries which restaurant to eat in or which hotel tonight. Highly suggest everyone try if you've never been on cruise. Alaskan coast - beautiful. Western Mexico can be quite hot. Most of Carrib islands very nice. Baltic Sea (London, Scand. and St. Pete) great taste of many countries! Mediterranian also nice for same reason, warmer climate. Will be doing S. Amer. shortly (Argent., Urug., Chile). Next cruise perhaps in New Zealand area??? |
