Rapid City - Black Hawk Area

An area of the Black Hills region that is laden with cheesy tourist traps. The two sights worth seeong at least once are, Mount Rushmore and the progress of the monument to Crazy Horse. Most of the wonderful caves, etc. are ways to suck up unspecting tourists and their money.

If you enjoy wind a lot, this is the place to be. A gentle breeze in the summer, or winter is usually at gale force and strong enough to take the hair off your head. The winters are generally between mild (and windy) with various amounts of snow ranging from a quarter inch blowing around with dirt or two to three feet of it blowing around. Economically the area does well for a few people while the rest of us are either earning minimum wages or unemployed.
