Despite all the hypes, I personally think a gondola-ride is a must-do while in Venice.
A 1-hour ride costs about 10 Euro (its said to be a fixed rate altho its known that some charged more or even lesser than that) hmm..
Especially nice if u have a jolly gondola driver who likes to sing and tells you tales of Venezia...
Cute and colorful eh?!
Wonder if the occupant (if any) finds it cumbersome to move about in the area?! :P hmmm

Getting lost "at least ONCE" is definitely an understatement, even if you have a map....and we did and we did (have a map and get lost that is ;O))
i would like to go to venice and gondola away...
I always seem to get piazza and pizza confused. I'm sure if I got lost in Venice and asked for directions to the Piazza I would end up at a pizza parlor instead.
