From the time you step out of the Don Muang Airport you know you've arrived in Bangkok. It's hot, humid, chaotic and there is that unique Bangkok smell in the air.
You'll be hard pressed to find a busier, full on city than Bangkok! It's alive 24/7. Street stalls line the pavements and traffic clogs each and every road but somehow everyone gets where they need to go...
There really is something for everyone in Bangkok. If you're into history, then you'll love the Grand Palace, Jim Thompson House, Floating Markets and the numerous temples (wats) dotted all over the city.
If shopping is your thing you've also come to the right place... Bangkok caters for people wanting genuine designer labels or genuine fake designer labels! Whilst I don't think they have the best malls in the world I'd say they go close to having the largest. MBK is floor upon floor of shops and eateries and extends for hundreds and hundreds of metres.
If you're like me and most enjoy simply experiencing the culture of the city then you could spend a week just walking around Bangkok marvelling. My personal favourite is Chinatown which is simply amazing!
With such a range of value for money hotels and unbelievably low restaurant prices, Bangkok is a must do holiday. |
