Penang is the place to go if you're looking for a mixture of relaxation and a cultural experience. Georgetown is a fun bustling city with an interesting heritage and beautiful architecture. You could spend three days just walking around looking at all the quaint little shops. Batu Ferringhi is a great place to relax. We checked out all the resorts and thought that the Mutiara and Rasa Sayang looked the best. Must do's include; eating hawker food (it's delicious and very safe), visit the clan jetties in Georgetown, travel to the top of the KOMTAR tower (great view!), visit Little India, take a ferry ride to Butterworth (then turn around and come straight back). The thing we enjoyed least was our trip to Langkawi (a long ferry ride and a pretty boring, unexciting place). Essentially a waste of a day. |
