Restaurant Name: Corner Bar & Bistro

A more bohemian counterpart to Tynska Bar & Books. Very comfortable, casual but sacrificing nothing in terms of high standards and quality. Located in edgier Praha 2 with a more extensive food menu. A place to unwind- there's even a billards room hidden in the back.

Favorite Dish: Cocktails and burger.

Restaurant Name: Slavia Kavarna

An old-world cafe within sight of the river bank and the opera house. The site of much history and intrigue over the years (Havel still comes regularly). A wonderful setting: well-coiffed veterans of many a Prague Spring as well as assorted others. One of the few places to offer afternoon piano music. A delight!

Restaurant Name: La Veranda

A comfortable, atmospheric setting in the heart of Praha 1. The best appetizier I have had in years (octopuss carpaccio). Wonderful wine list and very local offerings on the exquisite menu. The chef is very young but very well-regarded in the Czech Republic. Some say he will be the first to obtain the country's first Michelin star.

Favorite Dish: Octopuss caprpaccio. Ask about the local fish.

A very comfortable space for drinks and/or an authentic Czech meal. Most menu items selected to match the excellent beer selection. There are more than a few "Husa"'s scattered throughout the City.
