Surprising turns at every twist...
Somewhere between Bruges and Antwerp

I traveled for the first time to Gent. It has a very different vibe than Antwerp- less cutting edge but still with all the comforts and amenities of a significant city. Not simply a museum piece like Bruges, either.
A great walking town, too.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Easy to get to, lovely to visit
  • Cons:Unappealing beyond the central historic core

    Looks like a pleasant and quaint little town. The name brings back good memories as I use to live in a town with a section called "Ghent." Very nice page.

    Yes I must agree with you on the Gent v Bruges front. Nice page about a place I really must make a bit more time for next time I'm passing that neck of the woods.
