November 2003 to March 2004

My first assignment as a locum tenens physician assistant was at the Inscription House Clinic on Navajo Mountain Road near Shonto , AZ. I never imagined the fantastic travel opportunities that would be here. The location is fairly remote (there are trading posts nearby but a real grocery store is an hour away) but gorgeous sunrises and sunsets every day, mild winters (I've been in North Dakota for twelve years, so take that with a grain of salt) and no real extremes of weather. Wide open spaces dotted with the farms and homesteads of Navajo families.

Cons:too hot for me in the summer
