London Is A Bustling Metropolis

Culture, History, Stress!

London is crammed full of important sites and fascinating history, but first and foremost London is a big city - and therefore can be quite stressful. If you're looking for a quiet retreat or a secluded vacation, you would do well to wipe London from the list and save it for a time when you have more energy.

The first time I visited London I was ready to go after just 4 days spent carefully avoiding dark alleys in the evening, nearly being pickpocketed, turning down beggars, and having a few near-death experiences trying to cross the busy streets.

Absolutely Worth Seeing

That's not to say London isn't worth seeing. If you're a city kind of person, or don't mind being one for a little while, London can be the greatest place you've ever visited! I met many wonderful people from all across the world and saw some amazing things, like the Natural History Museum, Harrod's, Big Ben's clocktower, the Parliament building, Hyde Park, Madame Tussaud's, and Kensington Gardens.

The city is absolutely teeming with culture, history, art, and architectural triumphs. At any given time in London you can catch concerts or shows by a plethora of celebrities - you may even see one jogging in Hyde Park or shopping at Harrod's!

Do Your Research

If you're interested in history or architecture, or just looking for a city with a greta nightlife, by all means visit London. Use my tips to get an idea of where to go and what to see, and check out other members VT pages about London (especially the top 5ers).

I don't mean to sound like your mom, but if you do choose to visit London and you're from a small town like myself, please just use your common sense and be on the lookout for scam artists, pickpockets, and all that junk. Oh, and MIND THE GAP. You'll see what I mean when you get there.

I enjoyed this page on London especially the 5 best things you like about London. The first time I visited Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, they had just unveiled a new display. They were the rage at the time and they were none other than "The Beatles"
