"Blagaj" Blagaj by BelgiumThomas

What started as a one-day trip to Mostar ended in a wonderful 2 days.

After visiting the Tekija House at Blagaj, which was an unexpected beauty, we asked a local whether he could show us the way to a village nearby. But simply asking for the directions near Blagaj gave an interesting insight in modern Bosnia and Herzegovina....

We started chatting at 5PM, after a while we stepped down to the restaurant and had a delicious meal while continuing our conversation. When it became dark, he offered us a house (nice, clean apartment with swimming pool and large garden for only 25 EUR/night! In Croatia we often paid 25EUR/person for simply a room) and we kept talking till 2AM. In the mean time 2 other locals joined us and we had an absolutely delightful night in Bosnia. 5 youngsters enjoying their youth with all kinds of local beers and wine!

The next morning we were invited to a typical Bosnian breakfast with strong Turkish coffee. We had planned to leave early, but we kept talking and with regrets we had to leave them around midday.
