Cagliari is hot hot hot. Summer temperatures see 45 degrees, there is little rain. The north by contrast is wetter but the summers are still of a typically Meditteranean style. The two major airports are Cagliari itself and Alghero in the North West corner. The beaches of the Costa Smeralda are perhaps more famous than Cagliari's city beach, however there are miles and miles of coast line along the south coast (200 miles from Africa) including Villasimius which is a glittering jewel. People are very dark, they feel more Spanish than Italian and they speak Sard, altogether it is quite different from the Terrafirma of Italy, apart from the ice-cream, expresso bars, pizza......... |
