Bean Town - The NY Yankees thank you for the Babe. | My duaghter and her favorite flowers. |
Boston is a fun city with a climate that is much milder than that of my hometown, Rochester, NY. That's probably why my daughter lives there with her wonder dog Farley Cooper, named after Chris Farley. She moved there because of the social life and of course for graduate school.
Boston has quite a history but it also has some of the best Italian eateries in its "North End". The equivalent of New York City's "Little Italy", the Noth End is located next to Quincy Market on the "Liberty Trail".
Forget the diet. After a fantastic dinner and a botttle of Chianti, top it off with an Italian dessert from "Mike's Pastry Shop" on Hanover Street. It's in the heart of the North End. Hint: Go early and beat the crowds. It make take over an hour wait if you delay. |
| Farley asks, " What deer?" |
| | My faithful Boston companion - Farley Farley is a very intelligent dog who has spent too much time on the streets of Boston and not enough time in the country. He can find a Milk Bone dog treat within 100 yards, but a white tailed deer can pass by within 100 feet and Farley would not know the difference.
Apartments in Boston are rather expensive and a pet friendly one is hard to find. Just like apartments, hotel rooms are at a premium. Hotel rooms in Boston are usually discounted in the off season and especially over the wekends. With a hotel room shortage in Boston, prepare in advance.
HINT: Reserve a room in the heart of Boston near Boston Commons for the weekend when the rates have dropped. A four star hotel over the weekend could cost less than $125 a night.
Visit Maine, New Hampshire or the nearby areas and reserve a less expensive weekday room there for less than $100. Compared this with an expensive weekday Boston hotel room which could cost over $350 a night.
Farley, can you say "Deer"? |
