Madcap architecture, Gothic alleyways, markets selling skinned rabbits, lobsters and other writhing sea creatures, smokey restaurants - those are some of my impressions of Barcelona. But people were sincere in their efforts to help clueless tourists like ourselves; the live statues on the Ramblas astonished us with their skill and creativity; and we felt the giddy sense of fun in the air that has made Barcelona the magnet that it is. |
