Out of all the cities I have lived in, I can truly say that Portland is the greatest. It is safe, clean, affordable, has a great quality of life and the surrounding nature is kick a**! I should elaborate on this. Portland like any city has its ups and downs, but I think PDX has more ups than downs. I think that out of all the big cities to live in today, we are one of the best if not the best. The only thing that keeps me from saying it's the best is the weather because it can be drizzly and gray for six months of the year. I think people here are friendly, socially conscious, nature loving and young at heart. Being young at heart doesn't mean having plastic surgery to look like you're 30 when you are 50. It is about attitude and we have the youth within. As a city we seem to be geared towards progress and organization. We are also a clean city. Even the bad neighborhoods are clean. I have seen the rough edges of other big cities in other states and you really appreciate Portland when you come back home. My only complaint is that all of the greatness Oregon has to offer hasn't afforded me the creativity that I long for. I am an artist. I don't just paint, but I draw, dance, sing, write poems and do other artsy things. I am hoping that in time I'll be creative again.

BALLS6969 Mon Jun 1, 2009 18:58 UTC very nice how much $$ | chiefsteve Wed Jul 23, 2008 04:41 UTC I thought there was a funeral because everyone was driving so slow like 50 - 60. In Boston you drive 70+ and that is 12 inches bumper to bumper. On New York 22 it is closer to 100mph and 6 inches to the bumper. It certainly is laid back here | gilabrand Thu Jul 19, 2007 20:04 UTC Interesting portrayal of Portalnd, warts and all...LOL | aquatic Thu Jul 19, 2007 19:34 UTC Thanks for very useful tip!
