I was fortunate enough to be in Anchorage, Alaska for a conference on the same weekend as the ceremonial start of the famous annual Iditarod dog-sledding race. Anchorage was much milder than I expected and very pretty with the surrounding mountains (Mt. McKinley) and ocean (Cook Inlet). |

RickinDutch Wed Feb 22, 2006 18:28 UTC Nice job with my former hometown! I agree with you - the Captain Cook is a great spot to stay. Been there for 4 day conferences and never left the hotel! (It was -20 and blowing) Birthday greetings from Alaska! | mcpangie Sat Apr 10, 2004 23:56 UTC I was just up in Anchorage, had my digital camera... but no good picture taking moments. It was showing and or raining the whole time I was there! I like your Iditarod tips. I had a friend who ran it one year. It's a great event to watch. | Christophe_Ons Sun Mar 28, 2004 16:32 UTC Nice pages - useful tips and good pictures. |
