Playa Dorada - Provincia de Puerto Plata

Just came back from a glorious week on the Playa Dorada in Puerto Plata. Had been to the Dominican Republic before (Punta Cana two years ago) and loved it but thought we would try the north side of the island this time. We were not disappointed. It wasn't overly busy but we missed hurricane season. Weather was great every day but one, beaches were marvelous and the water warm and clear. Also a fun area to explore, outside the resort.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Beaches, warm water, scenery, tropical drinks and food
Cons:Vendors everywhere
