A weeks tour of the Rheinland included a day trip to the beautiful city of Cologne. We climbed the 500 and something steps to the top of Koeln Dom to see the fantastic views over the city and the Romantische Rhein. Take a gentle stroll across the Hohenzollern Brueke but beware of the dozens of cyclists!
- Pros:Friendly people, great shopping, gorgeous icecream!
- Cons:Too many tourists!

The best time to climb the tower is first thing in the moring when they open, not so conjested.
Hello, Maria! I second your opinion about the site of this city!
I only saw the railway station and the cathedral so far and crossed the Hohenzollernbridge numerous times. A chocolate now would melt away in this heat...
A Chocolate Museum ? Ah, so I must hop in the next train and explore, lol :-)) And.. can you imagine that I also never was inside the Cathedral ? lot to do in Cologne :-)
