Brugge Canal Boats

It's tacky, it's touristy, they pack you in like sardines.. it's not a rip off though... and a pleasant enough way to spend three quarters of an hour... just meandering languidly through the waterways of the centre of Brugge. It was fun. Grit your tired traveller's teeth and Just Do It :))

Brugge Beer

I am not a huge fan of beer... but if you go to Brugge you really do have to try some of the local brew... and if you are not used to it one of these will knock you for six (or at least give you a headache!)

Operatic Rendition in Brugge Markt

It was lovely just sitting here sampling some of the Belgian beers and watching the world go by (or so it seemed... Brugge is VERY popular). One tourist stood in the middle of the square late one night and gave us a fabulous operatic rendition.... encouraged by his friends and no doubt some of the aforementioned local brew.... he was in fact amazingly talented and the audience, seated around the square in the little bars and cafes cheered and applauded enthusiastically!

Brugge Belfry

We never managed to get the opportunity to walk up the tower to admire the view over Brugge... but I have a good imagination... trust me.. it's lovely.

Bridges of Brugge

Take a stroll away from the chocolate and lace shops and you will find some lovely places. We came across this beautiful bridge on a bright and sunny Sunday morning.
