Heritage route 9 Stops are:
Royal Albert Hall
Knightsbridge
Piccadilly Circus
Trafalgar Square
Charing Cross
Strand
Aldwych
and
Heritage route 15 stops are:
Trafalgar Square
Charing Cross
Strand
Fleet Street
St Paul’s Cathedral
Monument

Tickets
The TfL website states:
Standard fares will apply on both services, and all valid Bus Passes, Travelcards, Freedom Passes, Oyster cards and Saver Tickets will be accepted. Both routes will operate every fifteen minutes, between 0930 and 1830, seven days a week."
Sounds great! I shall definitely be taking a ride next time I am in the city!

During WWII - 10,000 mostly Jewish children were sent out of Austria, Germany, Poland and Czechoslovakia by their parents to escape the Nazis and almost certain death. These children came by boat from Holland to London and arrived in Liverpool Street Station to be sent around the country - some to hostels but mostly to foster families.
This monument of a rather forlorn little girl is found just outside the main entrance to Liverpool Street Station. The glass case she is standing next to, usually houses other artefacts and memorabilia from that time but currently it's empty due to renovation.

The Excess Baggage Co.
If you have checked out of your hotel/hostel but need to leave your rucksack, suitcase or holdall for an afternoon or a day or so while you sight-see then most major London railway stations have an Excess Baggage office somewhere on the station concourse. Rates for this service are currently £5.50 per item (at the time of writing) for 0-24hours (or part thereof) Monday-Sunday 7am-11pm. This goes up to £6 for each additional 24 hours. For obvious security purposes, bags are x-rayed on arrival and monitored constantly by CCTV. The Excess Baggage Co is open 364 days a year – closed Christmas Day.
Just look up for blue and yellow sign.

Travel is free on London buses for all wheelchair users. They have a retractable platform at the centre doors for access on every bus apart from the Nos 9 and 15 (Routemaster Heritage buses). Please check the TfL website for more information.

When going up or down the escalators always always stand on the right-hand side! I can't stress this enough! Busy Londoners will not be happy if they find carefree tourists with all the time in the world, just standing there blocking the left hand side whilst they are running up or down them, on their way to the next tube, work, home, bus or whatever. If you have luggage, tuck it in as best you can so it doesn't block the way either!
This photo was taken around midnight - but during the day it will be very busy.

Quiet on Sunday Morning
Bayswater tube - when you come out of the tube station, be prepared - there will be someone (an oldish guy) asking you if you need a hotel/hostel/room - if you haven't got somewhere to stay - then I have no idea what this guy is offering... if you take him up on his offer ... expect the worst! I am probably just a cynical Londoner but my instincts tell me to beware!
Ohhh maybe this should be in the warnings. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Hmmm have I got time to grab a latte?
Trains from Kent and Sussex come into (and obviously leave from )Charing Cross Station - (How many hours of my life have been spent waiting for a train here???)
Last train to the coast on a Friday night is 23.37 and on Saturday nights it's 23.30. If you don't think you can manage this early - book a hotel.

Tube sign
The London Underground - fast and efficient, London has the largest metro system in the world. Visitors can often find it difficult to navigate and I have seen many a bemused traveller looking baffled at tube maps.
The TfL website has all the info you require about the tube but suffice for me to say that when you have decided which tube line you are taking, you then need to work out which direction you are going in... and follow the signs eg: if you were at Piccadilly Circus and wanted to get to Baker Street, you would follow the signs for "Bakerloo line, Northbound". It's really not too difficult, but I appreciate it might be a bit daunting to a first time visitor.

Bus Ticket Machine
Buy your ticket at the machine at the bus stop before you board. An adult ordinary single ticket will cost you £1.50 (at the time of writing).

Bus Depot - early morning
When checking into a hostel/hotel at night one always falls asleep anticipating the view from the window of ones accommodation in the morning. What delights would await me when I awoke from my slumbers in St Christopher's I wondered? Well... as you can see from the pic... a bus depot and sky scrapers!! Lovely lovely London :)) Is it only me who sees a surreal beauty in scenes like this???
