English Country Gardens at their very best

This page is really only about Pashley Manor Gardens located near Ticehurst a short drive from Tunbridge Wells. I felt it deserved a page to itself due to it's overwhelming beauty!

These gardens are the epitome of English landscaping, set in 11 sumptious acres and with it's lakes, walled kitchen garden and woodland walks, there really cannot be a finer example of a 16th century moated house and garden in South East England.

Built in 1262, the de Passele family lived here until 1453. It was sold to the family of Anne Boleyn who is said to have stayed here when she was a girl. The Tudor house that stands in the 21st century was built by Sir Thomas May and the Georgian facade was built in 1720.

The actual house is not open to the public but the grounds are extensive and there are tea rooms on the terrace with magnificent views of the lakes and gardens where visitors can drink tea and take in the beautiful views.

Maria, this is one of the lovliest places I have ever seen. The people by the pool have gotten a bit too much sun, don'tcha think? LOL Beautiful photos! Thanks, Kat
