"The Smallest Town in England is in East Sussex" Winchelsea by Mariajoy
Winchelsea Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 22 photos
On a lovely Spring day there really is nowhere quite as beautiful as an ancient and historic English country town. Winchelsea is all these things. We visited the local pub here and the 12thC church, St Thomas'. This town grew up from a Saxon fishing settlement and is mentioned in the Domesday book.

Another of my favourite E Sussex spots, and you've really done it justice. Some great photos especially :-)
interesting architecture style of the museum. nice updates, the gate looks very old :-)
I am glad to read that after all you finally found the grave of Spike Milligan. Well done ... :-)
Good tips here Maria. I was a big fan of Spike. Been lost here a few times, there are no name plates on any of the roads, thank heavens for the post office! ( Which incidentally has moved since my map was printed)
Ooh, is it really the smallest town?! What a nice place, located somewhere between Lands End and John'O'Groats ;-)
Happy Birthday, Maria! Many happy travels! Nice pictures! Greetings
Very interesting page on a small England town,
wow, you had bluesky in England for one day ;-)
:))) Great intro pic. Hm, the pub sounds really nice, jut looking at the picture of the dish makes me hungry :)
those stuffed peppers look very good - I love that pic you took through the gate very arty indeed :-)
