"Spain" Spain by uglyscot

After years of visiting Italy, my parents decided to try Spain. So, one October my son and I went to stay with them in Andalucia, at Aguadulce. We spent a lot of time exploring the coastal villages and going up into the mountains.. I felt so at home in this area. The temperature was great, just warm and sunny. The British people we met were retired but full of fun and enjoying their life. A few locals who mixed with the crowd were friendly too.
My overall feeling was of sun, space, and relatively unspoiled countryside- apart from the plastic greenhouses.

Andalucia seems rather bare away from the coast where agriculture is very productive , but up in the mountains it is more scrubland, except where farms and villages break the monotony of the scrub.
Aguadulce is a little town near Almeria in south east Spain. It was named for the sweet tasting water, but unfortunately this no longer true, and the nearest sweet water is at Parador, a nearby village, or up in the mountains.
It is a place where a lot of older British people have retired . There are a lot of interesting places to go and see from the beach at Roquetas del mar to mountain villages and farms.
