"A day trip to the west" Achmelvich by uglyscot

Achmelvich Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 3 photos

Achmelvich is near Lochinver on the west coast of Scotland. Getting there you take a narrow road which passes through beautiful scenery with lochs and mountains, and finally reach the white beaches, well worth the trip.
We went when my children were very young and they enjoyed playing in the clean white sand. Although there some other people around , it was not crowded. The bay itself is sheltered, and there were small boats moored there.

There is not much to do apart from the beach, and to admire the scenery, and the sugar loaf mountain that is Suilven.

My goodness! I think you might have a photo there of the Mirror dinghy my husband made specifically to take to Achmelvich! That male figure in the yellow life jacket could even be him but probably not. We went there sooo often!
