| | Princes Street gardens are the venue for the annual summer jazz Festival, held in August which anyone can attend. Groups and families take picnics and spend the day listening to the music and enjoying themselves. . Prior to the concert in the gardens, the performers advertise their acts in the Grassmarket. Booths and caravans are set up where the performers give live performances as a preview for the main concert the following day. It is always a very colourful event and anyone will find some kind of music to enjoy. When we were there The Brolly Dollys were a colourful sight in their Twenties costumes.. |
Arthur's seat is a pleasant place to wander around. It affords great views across Edinburgh and as far as Leith. Even some of the islands can be seen on a fine day.. King Arthur is a legendary character. Many areas claim to be connected to him, one of these is Edinburgh where there is a hill called Arthur's Seat. From this point you get a panoramic view out over the Firth of Forth as well as the city of Edinburgh. . | | |

evaanna Fri Jun 12, 2009 20:46 UTC I loved Edinburgh in November - no hustle and bustle, more room for imagination. Craigmillar Castle looks so imposing. The procession could have been a Polish wedding, very typical.
