As you approach Casablanca from the airport, you realise how white the city is. I was used to seeing white towns in Spain, but somehow not such a large town as Casablanca. I'd already learned from others on VT not to expect much to see, but my husband though it was a MUST. In general it is a modern town with big buildings, busy roads, but not much to offer. Our main interest was to see the Mosque of Hassan II, the third largest after those of Mecca and Medina. It was built in 20th century and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. [See Tips] |
| | Casablanca is on the Atlantic and from the courtyard of Hassan II mosque, the breakers can be seen rolling ashore. In the distance can be seen the lighthouse and part of the town. |
| | Streets are arboured. This one has ficus trees. |
