By the sea | Palm Island, Marriott Hotel |
Hurghada is on the Red Sea. It is an uninteresting town , more or less purpose built for beach lovers. But the waters are brilliant blue, and the sand is clean. Snorkellers and scuba divers have a great time, as do wind surfers. Just lazing by the water is great as long as you have reading material. |
| | The Red Sea Al Munkhir Island is a conservation area. As you approach the island you can see masses of birds. On the island itself there is a mangrove area. The policy is take nothing and leave nothing but your footprints. Lounging in the shallow waters is like having a warm bath. Only access is by boat, but on the way you may be accompanied by dolphins. |
So many new hotels [Marriott, Conrad International, Sheraton] have sprung up here, it reminds me of the south of Spain. where the tourists will come from I can't imagine as there really isn't much on offer- so far alt least. But as I mentioned above for sunworshippers and those who like the sea it's ideal. | | |
