Philae was rescued from the floodwaters of Lake Nasser, and rebuilt on an island in the lake. Although dating to the latter era of Ancient Egypt, it has a lot of charm. The setting is beautiful and the island is arbored. |
| | Kiosk of Hadrian There are various styles of architecture to be seen at Philae from the typical Egyptian pylons to the Roman kiosk of Hadrian and colonnades.
There is a well-run cafeteria to provide shade and refreshment. |
| | There are so many colonnades at Philae and each column is decorated with scenes of gods and goddesses, kings and scenes. They are in good condition and give welcome shade from the sun. |
