If you're a sports fan, The Air Canada Centre would be an interesting place for you to visit because all the Toronto Maple Leaf and Raptor games are held there. They used to be held at Maple Leaf Gardens, but they moved a few years ago. This is a brand new building, and it was opened up on February 20, 1999 when the Toronto Maple Leafs hoested the Montreal Canadians. This arena can seat up to 18,800 people for hockey games, and 9,800 for basketball games. The Air Canada centre is only a short walk from the CN Tower and the Sky Dome.

This is one of Canada's only castles and was build in the early 1900s by Sir Henry Pallett as a gift for his wife. The inside is fully decorated, except up in the tower. Unfortunatly, Sir Henry Pallet had run out of money not afford to decorate some of the rooms in the castle, and up in the tower area. But if you climb up there, on a twirling case of stairs you feel like a little like Rumpenzel and it's a gorgeous view of Toronto. There are 5-acre state gardens, an 800 foot tunnel, stables, and many beautifully decorated rooms, terrace, and gift shop. Self guided tours are offered in eight different languages. The castle is open daily 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Visiting Toronto in the summer? If you plan to visit the Canadian National Exhibition, you can just walk right across the bridge and you'll be at Ontario Place. The Ex features more fair-like rides (like a ferris wheel, the zipper, Fire Ball, lots of games, and a food building, etc.) At Ontario Place you'll see IMAX productions, rides and attractions (although not as many as the Ex - mostly bumper boats, log ride, and Mega Maze) and if you have children the Lego building is always fun. I loved going in there when I was younger. Different concerts, shows and festivles are held there all summer long and there is also an amazing water park, Soak City.

Let the elevator take you to the top of the tallest free standing structure in the world and you'll have a great view of Toronto and Lake Ontario. The CN Tower is 1,469 feet high (447 metres.) There is a glass floor and an outdoor observation deck. You will also have the option of taking the elevator a little higher, to the very top of the tower and get an even better view but you can't go outside. It's also a little more expensive ($18.99 CAN for the lower level, and $23.99 CAN for the higher one.) The Tower is located on Front street, which is in the middle of the entertainment district of Toronto. Union Station is just a 2-minute walk away.

The Harbourfront Centre in Toronto feature the best of contemporary art: music, literature, dance, cultures, visual arts, etc. They feature a different show every week, or day...it depends.
If you're Swedish (or interested in learning about Sweden and it's culture) you may be interested in the Annual Swedish Christmas Fair that's held at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto every November. They serve traditional Swedish food (open-faced sandwiches, meatballs, Swedish gingerbread, glogg, bullar, etc.) They had hand made Swedish crafts, canned food imported from Sweden, including hard-bread and candies. There is a performance in the open terrace by Swedish folk dancers and the Lucia paegant (Which I perform in!!) It's a lot of fun, very entertaining. There's also a crafts room for the kids to bake gingerbread cookies, play fishpond, or make other traditional Swedish crafts. Whether you're Swedish or not, if you're in downtownToronto during the last weekend of November this year, why not stop by for a few hours?
By the way, this fair is put on by SWEA (Swedish Women's Education Association) and they help promoting Swedish culture all over the world. .
If you look at this picture, you'll see a girl with candles on her head....that's me!! (Dressed up as St. Lucia, who by Swedish tradition brings light in on the darkest day of the year.)

The Metro Toronto Zoo is one of the largest zoos in the world, with over 710 acres of walking trails, and animal habitats. I remember coming here often as a child and enjoying the camal rides (which they still have) face painting, pony rides, etc. The zoo also has a collection of about 5000 species - African, South American reptiles, birds, aquatic creatures, elephants, etc. Admission is $19 for adults. The zoo is open every day of the year except for December 25th!
