School trip | Ah! my hair is a mess!:-) |
During my last year of high school, I was lucky to visit Greece, a country I've always dreamed of going to. A teacher from my school organized this trip for any students who were interested in going for 12 days in March. My friends and I here in the picture all signed up. Some of the main places we visited were Athens, Hydra, Rhodes, Mykonos, Delphi, Aegina, Poros, and Mycenae. I became very fond of Greece and it's culture. I especially love Greek folk dancing, the food, the language, the history and everything else about it.
I am in my second year of university now and wouldn't you believe I still I have all the Greek salad ingredients in my fridge! I am taking an archaelogy course that focuses on Greek art and its really quite facinating! Having seen the ruins, frescos, and buildings for myself makes the class a lot more understandable and enriching. I hope to use some of the material I learn in class in some of my tips! |
| | Cruises There was something about Hydra that I loved! Maybe it was the circular form of buildings surrounding the harbour, or the view of mountains and hills behind the town area. Somehow I just loved how peaceful and lively it was at the same time, I felt very at ease there and had a great time. Besides Mykonos, I think Hydra would be my favourite Greek island. We went on two cruises in Greece: One of them was a one day cruise which took us to the islands of Poros, Hydra and Aegina. The second one was a three day excursion with Royal Olympic Cruises that went to Mykonos, Rhodes, Patmos and Kusadasi, Turkey. I'll be putting my information about these cruises in my Athens pages soon. |
