"The Sunshine State" Florida by Arial_27

A couple years ago my Mom drove my brothers and I down to Florida for a two-week vacation. We live in southern Ontario, so it was about a 24-hour drive all together but we stayed over night in hotels along the way.
We all really had a great time; there were so many friendly people, the beaches were gorgeous and I especially loved going on cruises where we were 'dolphin watching.' I snorkled and saw lots of interesting fish and shells, and even visited Universal Studios and Sea World. I had an overall amazing time and got a great tan. (Which is pretty exciting for me, because I don't tan easily!)
Florida is a VERY popular travel destination for Canadians during their Christmas break, and their March break. At these times, the beaches and amusement parks are usually a lot busier. But I went with my family during the month of May and you wouldn't believe how empty it was! We got special hotel discounts and much nicer rooms because they hardly had anyone staying there. The lineups were shorter, and things were less expensive. A lot of people looked at me funny when I told them I was vacationing in Florida during the month of May - but it turned out being the best time to go : -)
