  • Under the Eiffel Tower, there's usually a lot of people (mostly of African desent) selling souvenirs, like small little Eiffel Towers, etc.
It's not really a good idea to buy anything from them because they charge a few Euros for those little things - and I've seen those souvenirs in dollar stores in Canada. You don't even have to get them in France!
the best thing is to just say no, and keep walking.. otherwise they won't leave you alone.

  • Another caution under the Eiffel Tower is that there are so many people, and it is normally very crowded. There are a lot of experienced 'pick-pockets' there so hold on tight to your bag and makle sure it's zipped up. I know a friend who had her camera taken away and she never saw it again.
If you feel somone pushing against you, be extra careful and make sure no one's taken anything. You'v probably known for it to happen when someone is shoving up against you in a crowd - they've really just taken your wallet.

Warnings Or Dangers: Filming, taking pictures

  • As a tourist, it's understandable that you'd want to take lots of pictures and maybe even film some of the amazing things you'd see in Paris. There are some places however, where they don't allow you to film or take pictures: the Notre Dame, bakeries, stores, and the Sacré Coeur. They usually don't mind if you film outside the building, but inside they will tell you to put your camera away. So if you do decide to take pictures inside, make sure there are no security guards around.

Excellent page! I really like the Arc de Triomphe pic...practically perfect! Good tip on Disneyland Paris, I haven't ever been there but always think of going every time I'm in Paris.

I think I can see where the confusion lies :) E.T was a ride in Universal Studios, Florida. I've been going to Eurodisney since '98 and there has never been an E.T. ride there, not even in the studio's and I've been going there since it opened :)
